Puttu and kadala curry is the very popular traditional dish of kerala. We can make kadala curry in many ways like without using coconut,by grinding coconut,by using roasted coconut etc…
Ingredients
2 cups of Gram(Kadala soaked in water for 6-8 hours)
1 large Onion

3 medium sized Tomatoes
1 tbsp. of Ginger Garlic Paste
2-3 Green Chillies
1/4 tsp. of Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp. of Chilli powder
1/4 tsp. of Coriander powder
1/4 tsp. of Garam Masala
1 tsp. of Mustard Seeds
Some Curry Leaves
Oil for Seasoning
Salt as per taste
Method
Step 01
Pressure cook gram/kadala with salt for 10 min. Keep aside.
Step 02
Heat oil in a pan,splutter mustard seeds.
Step 03
Add chopped onion,saute well.
Step 04
When onion get fried,add ginger garlic paste saute till the raw smell goes off.
Step 05
Add chopped tomato. Once the tomato become mushy,add chilli powder,turmeric powder and coriander powder. Stir well for 1 minute.
Step 06
Add cooked gram along with the stock and mix well. Add water if needed. Close lid of the pan and cook for 5 min.
Step 07
Serve hot with puttu, appam etc…
